Whenever I’m having a bad day or in a bad mood, I just sit down and watch television all day. Most recently I was lying in bed mad because my check didn’t deposit into my account when I expected it t, which lead to my whole schedule being messed up and out of order. As I’m watching Sports Center (like I do every day) I saw this Taco Bell commercial about a man in a 5-star restaurant getting a small portion of steak on a plate, and he was somewhat displeased. Then it shows another man playing the piano for the dinner guest’s entertainment, and he’s singing his heart out about the new Quad Steak Burrito at Taco Bell; singing that it has four times the steak of what the first man had on his plate. Everyone in the restaurant starts applauding, whistling, and singing along, “Four times the steaaak!”
That commercial really made me laugh and brightened my day. For the rest of the day I was singing, “Four times the steaaak!” and “That’s like a whole huuunk of cow!” Lots of times I wonder how people come up with such funny commercials, and they’re so funny that I want to go and buy whatever product they’re trying to sell. I also wonder how much they get paid; it has to be a ton of money for a good idea. Like whoever came up with the “eat more chikin” campaign for Chikfila, that person has to be a multi-millionaire because every single Chikfila commercial has those dumb ass cows doing something ignorant and hilarious because they don’t want to get killed and grilled. It’s classic. The funniest one to me was when the cows knocked over a giant burger off of a building on top of a car and smashed it. The news was out covering what happened and there’s cows popping out of nowhere with signs that say to eat “chikin”, but the people around aren’t even paying attention to them. I seriously have no idea why I find this commercial so funny, but I do.
By far, the funniest commercial I have ever seen is the Starburst Berries & Cream commercial with the little man dressed up like a leprechaun singing “Berries and cream! Berries and cream! I’m a little lad who loves berries and cream!” And at the end he jumps in the air and clicks his heels together. I wish I could really understand why this commercial is so hilarious to me; because every time I see it, I laugh and roll on the floor like I’ve never seen it before. I guess I’m just weird like that. I think that someone should make a television station with only commercials on it all day long, every day. I would most definitely watch it. They could only be funny commercials though, none of those serious and boring ones with serious meanings. Companies might actually make a lot more money if they were to make a station like that. Just a suggestion.
